01 September - London Day 2

Had a great night's sleep last night so I was all set to begin my sightseeing day. First however I needed to have breakfast and I have to say their breakfast room is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, it is decorated like an enchanted garden!

I had an amazing breakfast: fresh-squeezed orange juice, 2 eggs with bacon, black pudding, baked beans & potatoes, and two crispy toasts with jam. I like having a big breakfast while traveling since I don't have to waste any time out for lunch and can last until dinner.

After breakfast I went on the "Hop-On-Hop-Off" tour of London. This is my favorite way to see a city, you get on and off as you wish at all the major stops in the city, you stay as long as you want and get back on the next bus when you are ready to continue your journey, buses come by every 15 minutes.

London is stll the amazing city I remember from years ago and if anything I love it more than before. I saw some beautiful architecture and historical monuments and wallowed in the spirit of this stunning masterpiece of a city.

No visit to London would be complete without a visit to Big Ben!

Later in the day I had booked to visit the interior of Buckingham Palace. This is not always offered to the public so I was fortunate to get a ticket. It's a self-guided tour with complimentary headsets with commentary on each room. It was incredible! We saw the formal dining room and many of the state rooms. We were very lucky that the queen came out to greet us with her corgis in tow, she was very nice (OK I made that last part up.....lmao). We are not allowed to take any pictures inside the Queen's home but being the sneaky devil that I am I was able to snatch a shot of one of the chandeliers, amazing!

They did allow us to take photos of the replicated Jubilee luncheon, that was awesome (hey they even had Cheetos on there, lol)

After touring the palace I made the mistake of entering the Palace gift shop on my way out, OMG is there nothing they don't make with the royal crest on it?  LOL  I did some monetary damage in there! Did I really need that red velvet pen with a crown on top? Oh well, you only visit her majesty once...lol

Then I was exhausted so I was happy to return to my cushy hotel. Had time to relax before heading out to the Silver Cross pub to have a Fish & Chips dinner, was yummy!

After dinner I was excited to go and see the musical "Jersey Boys" which was right across the street from the restaurant. It is the story of the rise of the singing group, The Four Seasons......they were terrific!!!

After that it was time to call for my Uber (best invention ever!!!) to return to the hotel.

It was a full day for sure but one filled with happiness and joy at being immersed in the wonder of one of the most magnifiicent cities in the world.
