02 September - London Day 3

Can't believe it's my last day in London! I slept in a bit this morning but I enjoyed another beautiful breakfast at the hotel before heading off for some shopping at Harrod's, one of the leading department stores in the world.

Harrods is mecca for fashionistas and luxury shoppers. This historical department store is one of the world’s most famous luxury shopping destinations located in the heart of posh Knightsbridge. Britain’s most luxurious department store is the largest shopping mall in Europe. Under one roof you can find world’s most exclusive and upmarket brands in fashion, home and leisure, furniture, latest gadgets, art, and gourmet foods. Henry Charles Harrod found a grocery store in 1824 and soon after he expanded across London. Today, it occupies over one million square feet of selling space where you can find any luxury item of your desire. On the ground floor you can buy your dream bag or perfumery, on the first floor you can enjoy the latest trends in fashion and a glass of champagne at the Veuve Clicquot bar. Urban Retreat offers high end hair styles and innovative skin treatments. Treat yourself to the best of British delicacies at the Tea room or snack on mouth-watering kebabs at the Rotisserie. Today, Harrods is owned by Qatar Holdings, the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar, hence you can find In-Q room on the second floor where you can learn more about Islamic culture and taste delicious Arabic coffee.

After shopping I headed out to Camden Market. Camden Town is famed for its market, a warren of fashion and curiosities by the Regent’s Canal. A haven of counter culture, the area is popular with tourists, teenagers and punks. The thriving nightlife scene includes live music in alternative clubs and old-school pubs, and major stars playing at the Jazz Cafe and the Roundhouse. Cafes bustle during the day. Here you can find anything from handbags to guitars, a real busy place.

                                             loved this street performer. . . . . .

Here is where I had a quick coffee.

After shopping I headed out to Picadilly Circus to take some photos. This is a busy tourist area and a fun place to visit.

They have some fun street performers there and I couldn't resist having my picture taken with him, kinda fun.

This "statue" was making people jump out of their skins because they thought it was a real statue then when she moved it was funny to see people's reaction.

I was getting a bit tired so decided to go eat at the Angus Steakhouse which was surprisingly very good.

Then I headed back to my hotel to change for the theatre. Tonight I saw the musical "Wicked", it was the least favorite of the three shows I saw in London but the costumes and set decorations were great.

Was quite exhausted when I went to bed and wished I had more time in London, but hey three days are better than nothing!

Tomorrow I leave for Southampton to board the ship!
